The smallest subnet ...

This question is from the boson practice exam. The wording gives me a brain cramp when it discuss "the requirments"

Is there anyway to view these type questions that might make it a little easier to understand?

"The requirements state that the smallest possible subnet numbers should be used and that the larger subnets should be allocated to to the lowest possible subnet numbers (as compared with the smaller subnets)..."

I don't claim to be the brightest bear in the woods, but isn't their an easier way to state this or look at it? It takes me 2-3 minutes to understand the friggin requirments ... lol

When a machine is used as force multiplier, the output force is larger than the input force. The force gain is paid by the distance loss.

This statement is talking about the lower gears on a bike. I can look at the gear cluster setting on my bike and instantly understand how it will perform. Do I really need to understand the engineering speak?

So here is my point. Rather than try to decode the question work backwards and start with the answers. Two of the answers can be throw out quickly since /26 would only provide for 62 host per subnet. The design of the question requires that you pick at least two answers so you have already found the two remaining answers and you are done.

This is just one way to skin this cat. I look forward to reading about other ways.

basically in the rules of subnetting it is stating that you should determine the amount of hosts you require for each subnet.
Then you start to subnet based on the largest subnets first so if you have
A = 50 host
b= 50 host
c= 12 host
d = 9 host
e - 2 hosts

you would not start subnetting the lowest subnets needed first, you work them largest to smallest.

I just went with the first part of it the question and drop off everything else ....

I got the question correct and the answer was both of the /25 networks. I don't think Cisco will have a question like that, but I don't want to waste time on the test uneccessarily, because of a wordy question. I plan on reading the question once slowly then making a preliminary selection and possibly reading the question again depending on my comfort level with the selection I made.
