McAfee AV with DAT 5958 killing Windows
Apparently the corporate version of McAfee with DAT 5958 has a bad signature in it which quarrantines SVCHOST.EXE in Windows XP because it thinks it is infected. KB article that explains it. If you've lost the SVCHOST file then you're going to have to get somebody to trek around to each PC to restore it.
McAfee claim that there was no significant impact even though there are reports of thousands of machines going down.
