I know this should be an easy problem to fix. My niece just got a new computer with Windows 7 home on it. The second day she had it her daughter set the password and now she can't log onto the computer.
How can I reset/change the pw over the phone? She lives about an hour away.

No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

She could try booting into the windows 7 disk and choosing system restore then try restoring to a point before that password was set. I think that would work. -

That would work.

It doesn't work in XP, though.
