CCNA service provider

I noticed Cisco finally announced the details of this certification on their website, it doesn't sound too interesting. Is anyone thinking about it? I think I will continue on with the Switch exam.

yeah I probably will more so for fun and knowledge than anything else....... and I loved the CCIP track so naturally the SP track should be right up my alley... I work for an SP but doubt they would fund the CCNA or CCNP SP tracks.... CCIE:SP however might be a possibility so therefore getting myself some additional prep for it via the CCNA and CCNP quals seems worth my while apologies if this post doesn't come out right..... posting from my mobile.....

The exam is now available for $150. I guess there won't be a beta available.

The certification requires ICND1 + SSPO or a valid CCNA + SSPO.

Exam Description

The 640-760 Supporting Cisco Service Provider IP NGN Operations exam is designed to introduce entry level personnel to the SP network operations environment, processes-orientation, management tools and methods, and enables students to practice the primary job roles and tasks. • Describe how a trouble ticket processes through the network operations center (NOC)

• Perform incident management using basic tools and documentation

• Escalate an incident ticket according to typical criteria
• Create an RFC to implement a fix or workaround for an incident

Apply the problem management process

• Apply the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) problem management process to the task of managing networks

Perform first-level network monitoring and troubleshooting

• Use network management tools to monitor network status
• Interpret device specific alarms and determine the severity of the alarm

I'm interested... I was trying to take a look at the syllabus, but it continued to tell me that I needed to login. Once I logged in, it would take me to the home page and say Welcome MY NAME. Does anyone have the syllabus from Cisco's site? I would love to take a peek. Do you think they're going to offer a beta testing for this one the way they did with the new NP tests?

Some trivial questions and maybe a NCM sim.

The material still could be useful for a NOC monkey in-training.

That was my thinking, just sounds really boring. I already have to deal with the constant information the NOC wants at work, I sure don't want to study it at home.

Interesting. I'll definitely snag the book – Anyone hear of a publication release date? Cisco Press has been a little behind of late.

I can't find any reference to the SSPO exam (or the CCNA Service Provider, or CCNA SP Operations, etc) on the Cisco Press Web Site.

The Study/Learn link for the SSPO exam on The Cisco Learning Center SP Operations (CCNA SP Ops) web page and the Official SSPO Course seem to be the only resources available.
