I have been compiling a list of online MBAs and I noticed a few schools that were offering non-CS IT degrees. So I decided to start looking at any school that offered an online MBA and checked their website to see what else they offered online. As I've said before, I'm a big proponent in finding a known school in your region and seeing what they offer for online degrees vs going to online-only schools with no name recognition. To each his own though.

The MS-InfoSystems actually requires an on-campus residency every six weeks for two of the classes. BUT, you can take those required classes at another university and transfer them in if you can find them online. Not a bad option for someone who doesn't mind driving there every six weeks though.

The classes are a little easier than you'd expect. But other than that it's a good program, at a reasonable price.
The instructors are very knowledgeable and are willing to help.
Are Auburn and Virginia Tech really consider tier I? I thought VT was tier II and Auburn tier III.

The University of Michigan Flint campus offers a MS in CIS and a CIS focused MBA. The business department has really good staff, the advisor/"leadership" on the CIS side sucks. That is the nicest thing I can say about them without making large donations to the swear jar.
Baker College also offers online MBA programs, one of which is technology focused.
All of these programs can be completed online in their entirety and are graduate level programs.

I've seen mixed reviews for Bellevue, what are your thoughts?
I've heard that financial aid can be brutal to deal with at times. They can be lazy and apparently uninterested in helping you. I didn't have these problems, but my tuition was pretty straight forward and I was able to handle it myself with minimal input from them.
As for the accelerated online program, there were no tests. You had to respond to a few questions in a discussion forum that related to the weeks readings and create dialog with other student's posts.
My degree was definately one where you get out of it what you put in. I found it pretty easy to half @$$ my way to a 3.9 GPA. I wouldn't read every required reading, and would just skim others. If you can carry a reasonable conversation, you can probably pass with very little effort. I will say though that it took me 9 years to finally finish my degree after high school. I had been in the working world for a while and some of the things being taught, I already had experience with. By this point, the degree was nothing more than checking off a requirement on the resume to make sure I can remain competative in the job market. I didn't necessairly seek it for its educational value.

I don't know about OH, but in Michigan they have a excellent reputation. I have worked with Baker students, and for the most part they know their stuff.
Yeah, Michigan too.
The reason I am hesitant is, every time you see advertising for the online only universities like UoP or Capella, Baker is listed with them. So I associate them with that crowd.

Baker is a normal brick and mortar college and they offer online degrees too. Everyone I know that has been to Baker has been really happy with the experience and I would say know their subject. It is a private college that started out with business programs just about a hundred years ago. They are not the braindump of the university/college world.
Just one little update to you post on U of M Flint, only the two required business classes require a residency. The other classes can be completed in their entirety online.
The graduate certificate at UCF charges in state rates even if you are out of state. The masters program is expensive if you are out of state, no doubt about that.

I'll add my contribution to this thread. If you go to the Higher Learning Commissions's website, The Higher Learning Commission - Home , you can search through all universities and colleges that are accredited through this institution. You can view details about each school and it will clearly state what distance learning programs that school offers. For example, Capella is accredited through them and it lists all of their distance learning programs offered.
Now take another more traditional B&M school, Purdue University for instance, and you'll see they only offer 7 programs through distance learning.

A friend just graduated from the MS:ISA program. It was pretty rigorous from my understanding.
