Example Answer Files for Windows 7 Sysprep - Anyone?

veritas_libertasveritas_libertas Member Posts: 5,746 ■■■■■■■■■■
We are trying to sysprep some laptops at work for Windows 7 and want to use an answer file so we do not have to constantly type in the Windows key. I have searched all over Technet and Google but I can't find an example to build on. Anyone have some suggestions or an example I can build off of ?

We aren't using WDS, so none of our images are WIM files.

WSIM should be able to generate an answer file for you still though.

That is what I thought as well. I tried but it wouldn't let me add/modify anything. When I first loaded the program it told me that my options would be very limited since I wasn't using a source WIM file.

You got the installation media? Get the install.wim off that.

You are referring to the Windows 7 installation CD, right? There is actually a very interesting story behind why there is not... icon_lol.gif

Or burn a cd from your MSDNAA ISO you got from WGU.
No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.
