Log Location routers & switches

I am a newbie to CISCO side .i was working as Linux admin for 2 years and now planning to take CISCO career and started my CCNA classes, my doubt is like /var/log/messages in linux and error logs and Syslogs in windows is there any file in router IOS or switch...it will be great help if we troubleshoot...I am curious to know about this

"show log". You can configure it to be sent elsewhere using syslog and archived onto Flash as well.
