So Do I *Have* To Take a Course?

Hi All

Looking at what to do next once I complete my Microsoft Certs. Looking at Citrix as I do get some exposure in my role although it tends to be with archaic versions (e.g. Metaframe XP!).

I have one question - there seems to be some conflicting info on the Internet as to whether the Citrix training courses are compulsory to a Certification (like VMware) or whether they are optional.

For example can I just take the 1Y0-A05 exam and will that make me a CCA for XenApp 5.0 or do I have to take an associated accredited course too? If it's the latter then I may as well give up now and think of something else to do.

They are optional for all but the CCAA for Citrix XenApp 5 for Windows Server 2008 (Citrix Certified Advanced Administrator) certification which does require a single training course.

CCA is definitely an option then. Get this SQL2008 MCITP done first though (exam on Monday)!

Anyone have any recommendations on books?

I notice that CBT Nuggets have something out which is good but I'd like to have a good book too. The Syngress one seems to get quite a poor rating on Amazon.

Have they dropped the elearning requirements for some of the certs? I'm kind of out of the loop on some of this stuff.
