billscott92787 wrote: » Yes, I did. The test was exactly the same, a few different questions. I missed one question I know for sure, but it was a multiple choice, so I don't know how much it was worth. There was one other question that I had an issue pin-pointing the "exact" issue. I'll probably be retaking it on the 12th, next Saturday. I want that CCNP title so bad I can taste it, and to be held back by 24 SUCKS! LOL.

I took the TSHOOT topology and built the entire network from the ground up to get familiar with how it works, and how the network is built, and supposed to work. I felt way more confident on this try. There were two areas I know for sure where I messed up, one I think I answered right, but not quite sure, I think that's the one area that held me back, I knew where the problem wasbut not what caused the actual issue. I don't want to detail it because I don't want to violate NDA. But, I just want to wake up and know that I am CCNP. I'm going in next week more confident and hopefully coming out on top. Only thing is chances are I'm getting hit with different questions. So we will see how it goes. I have the TSHOOT exam cert guide but it pretty much looks like a waste of time. In addition, I can honestly say, that you gotta know your stuff for this exam. Cisco definitely used this as a tool not only to MAKE MONEY, but to weed out the dumpers. Good luck getting passed this if you **** your ROUTE and SWITCH exam. Hopefully, it makes people release that new CCNP's are more valuable than before, especially with this new addition. I was going to do the ONT and ISCW route, but to be honest, I am not doing that, that's why I re-did TSHOOT. Now that I have failed this thing again, I'm going to conquer this beast.

I consider any vendor kicking your butt if you fail the exam, regardless of points. A lot of you may or may not agree with it but that's my point of view. I've also had my share where I was 21 points shy from passing an exam. I never took it again though. But I still considered it as kicking my butt. I found that TSHOOT beta exam was hard because the amount of questions within 120 minutes. I also thought that it wasn't doable by the way the exam was setup. I had a lot of complaints with the beta exam, from screen size (i have dual display at home and at work so screen real estate can save you time), amount of question within 120 minutes (was it really 120mins? forgot), scrolling experience, non-working commands, and etc. I though Cisco wants to make it as real-world as much as possible. Really? Real world don't let you issue commands that works in a production environment? I passed the beta exam but I still complain about it because another candidate will most likely say the same thing. When I first saw the first trouble ticket, I had no good process in attacking the question. Good thing I was able to learn a good process (at least in my point of view) as I progressed. I always tried to start from the PC unless the question says otherwise. I am sure you know what I am talking about. c",) I think attention to detail is the key for this exam. I had two trouble tickets that I didn't pay attention to some of the commands. If I did pay attention to them then I am sure I could've moved on to the next after 2-5 minutes of spending time with the trouble ticket. You can build a real or virtual lab mocking the TSHOOT topology but not paying attention to detail can really hurt you.

zerglings wrote: » Even Wendell Odom have some complaints that are similar to mine. You may want to read Wendell Odom's post about how to attack the trouble tickets. It might help you out. Since you're too close in passing the exam it might not do anything other than waste your time. Good luck on your next attempt. Hope you'll get your CCNP.
