Project Madness

Hi Guys..

My last semester at uni...done a host of certs and all. Problem is majority of my class ( Not a super Uni) just design websites or create databases for their final year projects. Some design games with unreal editor (my 14 year old cousin does it with ease).

I was thinking of doing something different. The big issue is im specialising in Networks and Information Security. We haven't done anything in security and the Networks classes are nothing to write home about ( Easier than CCENT classes).

Are there any project ideas in networks? Or even security? Or anything? I am willing to learn as i have 6 months before hand in and pretty much ready to use all my time on this.

I will REALLY appreciate your ideas and suggestion. :D

It's hard to say as I don't know how deeply you need to go for this. But if it was me I'd look for an existing network plan (either the UNI's if they'll give you the info, or a local company/non-profit etc.) and do an optimization and redesign as the project.
We responded to the Year 2000 issue with "Y2K" solutions...isn't this the kind of thinking that got us into trouble in the first place?

Projects in network security are endless. What approach are you looking to take? Business or Technical or a bit of both?

I was thinking of this the other day for my final project for my masters degree

Thnks for the response...I am aiming at a very technical approach. I was also thinking of .net applications for the cloud

This is a fantastic idea. Even with a project like this, you could still go technical or business to varying degrees.
The beginning of knowledge is understanding how little you actually know.
