Fax printing question

I don't often use a fax so I thought maybe you guys could answer my question that may be on the simple side. My all in one printer has fax as well as printing capabilities and it has to trays. Now I want to receive my faxes on both trays depending on the document being faxed (normal size and legal). How do I set this up on the fax machine?

Thanks in advance.

My guess is that it is an automatic function of your printer. Have you tried it yet? Originally a FAX used a continuous roll of paper so length made no difference. As page printers came into use, normally the expensive ones buffer the document before printing so they can automatically check the size doing image reduction or switching to the alternate tray. What method your printer uses is probably in its operation manual. Sorry if I was not much help. I use a FAX modem and print to a medium speed HP 4300 with multiple trays and it is automatic in the printer driver like any other print document.
