Well passed the Juniper exam - it was the JNCIP-SEC exam.
Found it pretty easy.

It's my Wife's Birthday this weekend so not going to have much study time.
Hopefully get some labs done on Sunday.

So I booked and paid for the lab today. Scheduled for Thursday 7th February 2013.
I'm feeling like I just need this to be over... I have been studying constantly since about 2004 which is about when I got my CCNA.

I don't want to have to wake up every weekend and have to study all day anymore. So I have something like 76 days to wrap up my prep for the lab. Really hoping to pass on first attempt as I don't know if I will have the energy to try for a second.

Anyway, I'll give it my all until then.

Didn't help that i loaded up the wrong config and was wondering why nothing was working correctly

As above I lost about two hours due to a config issue so didn't even get close to finishing the whole lab.
But it was a good review of some layer 2 stuff.

Bloody hot in Sydney today, heading to the beach for a while.

I'm working through lab 1 still on INE WB2 but i think I'm taking the wrong approach... I'm stopping to verify my answers quite often which means the progress through the lab is slow.

I have another rack session this afternoon and will try to smash out as many tasks as possible and leave maybe 30 mins for verification at the end.

Yep quite enjoying MPLS, its always been a favorite of mine.
Almost finished the WB 1 MPLS labs - that will also mark the completion of the entire INE WB1.

With just under two months to go i'll be hitting the WB2 labs and reviewing any not so good areas using WB1.
Also plan to do some of the troubleshooting labs that INE has and maybe 1 mock lab.

Aiming for betwen 15 and 20 hours of study per week for the next two months.
Already done 6 hours this week and I have two 5 hour labs scheduled for the weekend so its looking like a good wrrk so far.

Lab 2 WB2 today

Lab 2 was OK.... I'm strong on all the core topics, but get a bit stuck with some of the smaller topics

All in all happy with the lab though. Lab 3 tomorrow.

Well that was a tough lab. Only got about half way through it.
Once again I loaded the wrong rack config and wasted an hour trying to troubleshoot issues before i realized.

Some of the BGP stuff was tough and the redistribution section also took a while.

All good practice though!
Another 5 hours to the counter with some after some lunch.

10 hours of labs scheduled over the coming weekend.
I have two weeks off over Christmas and will be doing labs 3 days on 1 day off for the duration.

Its time to ramp up the hours.... less than 2 months to go!

Lab 4 went OK today.

Had trouble with the multicast section, for some reason the Auto-RP messages were not going over the frame-relay cloud so the routers didn't learn the RP. Had to move on, but will lab this one up again later.

Also struggled a bit with the zone based firewall, just had trouble interpreting the question. The solutions was to do a whole bunch of craziness with VRFs... Never would have picked that.

Anyway i'm medium happy with this lab.
Going to go back to the multicast section now with the last 30 mins or so i have of rack time

Ended up doing another3 hours yesterday arvo, total of around 8 1/2 hours for the day.
My lab this morning got ruined by an outage at work, so that ate up 2 hours of my lab.

Only got halfway through lab 5 but was finding it pretty easy. Will pick it up again at some point.

Probably come back for a few hours this afternoon. I need some Multicast review and some QoS review.

Won't be able to study on Saturday this week (Christmas shopping) but have 5 hour labs scheduled for Sunday and Monday

Did a few sections of the WB2 troubleshooting labs with the time I had left as well.

Went over some troubleshooting labs, pretty happy with my work today, everything clicked nicely

No that isnt wrong, you'll have many more Xmas's but you cant get back time. Now I hope you blasted that lab to the nth dimension and are having loads of fun with the family!
