rakem Member Posts: 800Last day of study, done about 7 hours already.
Hope I can sleep OK tonight, I'll be on a train around 6am on my way to the testing center... Luckily I live in a city which has a local test site (Sydney.)
Any pro tips from the guys who have sat labs before?
On thing that bugs me whenever I go to testing sites is the crappy facilities, like small monitors, crappy keyboard/mouse, and worst of all, crappy old chairs. Hopefully they spend a bit more on the facilities seeing as this is the CCIE.CCIE# 38186

reaper81 Member Posts: 631Good luck! Try to pick the easier tickets first in TS. Time management is everything! Don't spend more than 5 minutes on a ticket if you get stuck before you move to the next. You can go back later and hopefully you will have thought of something when you go back to it.
For the config section verification is everything! You have more time in the TS but you still can't get stuck for too long. Use Notepad for everything! Remember the goal is to get 80% on both sections. So you can skip some stuff if you make sure that you get your points on the things you know. Unverified tasks you should consider lost points.
Once again, good luck!Daniel Dib

rakem Member Posts: 800Not the best sleep I've ever had, probably about 5 hours.
Anyway not to worry. Sitting in the train at the moment, just reading some INE blogs about various topics.

Man it was pretty tough. Troubleshooting lab was massive, so many devices. The time went very quickly, I think I solved all but 1 issue.
I feel good about the config lab, there was nothing in there that INE didn't cover so most of it felt comfortable.
I think I'm a good chance to pass but can't be sure.
Proctor reckons the results could be in as soon as 2 hours!!
Ill be spamming the Cisco site until I see it update and hopefully show pass!CCIE# 38186

Hmmm Its a tough question to answer without giving away to much info.
But from my experience today I know this:
- INE Workbooks are awesome - everything on the exam was something that I had done in an INE book (more or less)
- DocoCD is very handy - there were a few questions that I was in two minds about, a quick browse through the Cisco Doco gave me my answer
- Repetition is key. Everything is easy if you have done it a few times before.
- Double check your work. This might be difficult sometimes, I didn't get much of a chance to check my work in the TS lab, but i verified as much as I could as I was working. But in the config lab I i finished with about 45 mins to go so I went back to the start and made sure all my L2 and L3 stuff was good.
- L2 is critical - the previous point brings up something important - Layer 2 is so important, I spent a long time making sure the layer 2 config was perfect. This will save time later on.
The last thing I'll say is try not to be overwhelmed. When I sat down and opened up the troubleshooting section and saw the topology I had a minor panic attack, it just looked so complicated. However, I took my time, red the questions carefully and just did what I needed to do.CCIE# 38186

I see that elsewhere on the forum, you mention that you used on VOL1 and 2.
Is that the case, or did you use additional resources?
Just curious as I am using a mix of INE and mini labs. -
