Do the practice questions every day now. It counts as reading. Get over 100 hours as soon as you can.

Yep thats what i'm doing, not every night but a few times a week to avoid 'tail drop'

An hour of IPv6 reading tonight and some random practice questions.

2 hours or IPv6... Struggling with it a bit.
The info in the text books is thin.... I have been reading alot of the RFCs which has helped.

Not much info around on subnetting IPv6 addresses. I'll get there though.

Man IPv6 is a 'dry' topic...

Anyway 4 hours this morning. Manily review questions from my text books and CD. Taking a break soon and hope to get a few hours in before going out with friends tonight.

Not long till written test day now. Get over the 100 reading hour mark then start hitting the Boson tests each day. You have a solid reading foundation behind you now and the practice tests will be a change helping you to work what you have learned.

Yep been hitting the practice tests.
Doing well on the major topics like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and STP but am getting let down with the smaller topics

I'll be reviewing the 'IP Services' chapters this week.

I wouldn't get hung up on IOS firewalls for the written. For IP services know a few things. Be familiar with config.

    study, study, study

Learned some random stuff tonight which I never knew.

    1) Cisco switches will use ISL encapsulation if they are auto negotiate trunks and Dot1q is not specifically configured. Seems weird, i thought ISL was on its way out....

    2) there is an ACL command - log-input. This will log the source MAC and incoming interface of a packet that hits a ACE. Never new that existed before tonight.

And this is one fact about EIGRP that is important but easily forgotten (well easy for me anyway)

Remember when the material was first written and published ISL encapsulation was still an usable option. I would venture a guess that Odom either missed this tidbit in the 2009 revision (4th edition) or left it in just for the purpose of the exam. On todays "modern" Campus LAN switches (2960X, 3560X, 3750X, Nexus, etc) ISL encapsulation is no longer an option. I would remember this just for the purposes of the test and then forget it since it's no longer the standard.

    Keep up the great work!

Congratulations! Drink heavily, and get over 100 hours. Time with practice tests counts as reading hours. Hammer them!

Keep clattering away. The written isn't far off so kill yourself with the Odom and Boson practice tests the next couple of weeks until you are sick of them. Study all the answers and explanations of any questions you get wrong.

Good luck man. How are you finding ipv6 overall?

Its probably the topic I struggle with the most, and also the topic I'm least interested. I just find it boring.
The routing aspect of it is OK since most of it is fairly similar to IPv4.
It is something I need to do a fair bit more work on.
