failover between two different firewall brands

Greetings all

I want to know if any of you have ever done a wan failover configuration between two different firewall vendor. Specifically between a Sonicwall NSA 240 and a Pix 515. We are migrating off of the Pix as our primary firewall solution but I would still like to keep the pix for fail over. Has anyone done this? Is this even possible?

I don't know that is possible. Most clustering relies on heartbeat detection and some won't even do so outside of similar model or family.

    +1
If it is possible, it's probably not going to be easy to get working right. I used to work on SonicWall stuff. I'm definitely not a huge fan of theirs.
I bring nothing useful to the table...

Confirmed by Sonicwall that is isn't possible. We can do Wan failover but nothing more...
