So i have just completed my 291 exam, passed with flying colours so i was really happy about that
Just checked my Transcript from MS, and it doesnt say that i am a MCSA.
Here are the exams i have done.
Core
70-290
70-291
Operating System
70-270 - XP Exam
Elective
70-680 - Windows 7 Configuring
Does it take a few days for MS to actually put it onto the transcript? Or do i need to do something else? There is a note that says this for both the 270 and 680 exam on the MS website

Note - You can apply this exam toward either the elective requirement or the client operating systems requirement—not both.

earweed Member Posts: 5,192 ■■■■■■■■■□According to a few other posts I've seen lately MS takes a few days to update your status as an MCSA. I can't find the particular threads right now but they were recent.
BTW Congrats on your achievement! No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives. -

What that means is that you couldn't use the 270 as your client os AND for your elective exam. You can use for one, but not both. You can use the 680 for both your MCSA and your MCITP if you choose to do that though.Decide what to be and go be it. -
mattym Member Posts: 14 ■□□□□□□□□□thanks... i was started to get a bit worried.
Im looking at going on an upgrade path, probably first to my Server Administrator and then Enterprise Administrator one day... not sure yet.
Also... just looking at getting opinions...
I have been working in IT for over 5 years... and MCSA is the only certification i have. Do you think it would still be valuable to look into getting at A+ certified???
I would love to get my CCNA but my workplace wouldnt be able to really gain anything from me knowing it... -

Since you already have been working in IT for 5 years, I would say the A+ isn't going to offer you anything more careerwise. If you are utilizing your skills as an MCSA at your current job, I would begin seeking your MCSE or MCITP:EA. Those certifications + experience will do you a lot better in the long run and provide you with more opportunities for advancement. -

While I agree that the A+ won't be a huge help, if all you have is MCSA, A+ could be a quick way to make the certification section of your resume not look quite so bare.Decide what to be and go be it. -

Agreed, it might make the resume look better but it's not really relevant to his career goals. I would say if he wants to get something maybe he should go after the N+ because he has expressed interest in possibly going down the CCNA path.
