Still trying to learn and get down how to read/understand cisco image files, what would be the newest image file(IOS) that i could install or need on the following routers that would provide the best features for studying for the ccna/ccnp:

2620xm
2620
2621

The Cisco Feature Navigator should answer all of your questions.

This is what I have found and just want to confirm, would this be correct and recommended IOS for the following:

    For the 2620xm
    12.4(15)T13
    c2600-ik9o3s3-mz.123-26.bin
    IP/FW/IDS PLUS IPSEC 3DES BASIC
    64mb/16mb flash

    For the 2620 and 2621:
    12.3.26(GD)
    c2600-adventerprisek9-mz124-15.TB.bin
    256mb/48mb flash

Look through the exam blue prints for the exams you want to go for and match that off the features listed in the navigator. You will also want to check the memory requirement matches your router.

I usually go with an advanced IP services feature set for the lab. That will have most of your features covered.

    brewoz40,

How much RAM do you have on those routers?

The one I use on all of my routers (2620, 2620xm and 2612) is IP PLUS - c2600-is-mz.122-46a.bin (version 12.2.46(GD)). It needs DRAM:48 MB Flash:16 MB

I've never had any problems with any CCNA requirements using this IOS. You don't need to go overboard for CCNA.
