Hi
I have studied the comprehensive Study guide by Sybex for this exam and would like an alternative to read for the different style. Does anyone have any links to any ebooks that I could download relating to the exam? Or any study guides that I would benefit from?
I am in the situation that I wanted to take the exam before my wedding (14th Aug), only all the local test centres dont have availability until the week before or during my honeymoon - argh!
Thanks

There are very few good resources for this test actually. The only thing I can really point you to is the resource thread http://www.techexams.net/forums/windows-7-exams/42480-70-680-resources.html
By the way, I've heard the Sybex book isn't deep enough, by itself, for you to pass the test. Read the technet articles to complement the book.
Congrats on the upcoming nuptuals! No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives. -

I would recommend that you read the official MS Press book for the 680, and do all the labs in the book. It's definitely not an exam that you can read the book and then walk in to the test center and pass. -

It is expensive, but does come with an ebook that makes studying convenient. They also usually come with an install cd so you can get hands on practice.Decide what to be and go be it. -
Nobylspoon Member Posts: 620 ■■■□□□□□□□Check out Safari Books Online, basically like Netflix for books. They have all the MS Press books (which even provide the CD content) and several other books on the subjet. I just signed up a couple of days ago and it has already been paying for itself.
I used a coupon code (MXNPRWH) that got me 20% the monthly total for up to 12 months, this works with the unlimited account and the 10 slot bookshelf accounts.WGU PROGRESS

sh3llc00per Member Posts: 12 ■□□□□□□□□□I do have a copy of the MS Press Ebook now. I cant believe how much more detailed it is than the sybex guide. I've spent a good 8 hours studying with it already and am not beyond chapter 3! I dont think I'd be ready for the exam before my wedding now!
What way do you guys find the easiest to study? Do you read the books and take notes or do you just read the books over and over a couple of times?
How much time would a consistant technician using Windows 7 need in order to prepare for the exam? -
aaronchristenson Member Posts: 261 ■■■■□□□□□□I read the books and do the examples as I go. That usually is enough for me.Aaron

LCA Member Posts: 215I spent a couple of months studying for the 680 exam. I used the Windows 7 Resource Kit and Technet mostly. The Sybex book wasn't out when I was studying.
Re study methods, there are many ways to learn this stuff. I used to take notes but don't anymore. I do a lot of reading (usually from multiple sources), watch video's if available, and do lots and lots of practical stuff (very important for 680).
