Deathgomper Member Posts: 356 ■■■□□□□□□□I just passed the 701 and 702 just using Mike's book 2 weeks ago. I think that using 2 study guides will help you out quite a bit. Best of luck and I'm sure you'll do fine!

I used the Sybex CompTIA A+ study guide for my studies and passed the 701 on Wednesday. Writing the 702 sometime over the next 4-6 weeks. (taking my time)
I was nervous about doing the test because I read on a couple of different boards that the pass rate for the 09' edition of the test was
only 30%.
I finished the test with 12 minutes to spare and scored an 801. If you have a solid understanding of the objectives, you'll be fine.

Lemonade727 Member Posts: 177Good luck on the cert! I just got back from my testing center today and passed both exams using only the Mike Meyers book and included practice tests. There were a few questions in there that weren't in the book, so it's good that you're using multiple sources.Completed: EWB2, LAE1, WFV1, BAC1, BBC1, SSC1, SST1, BOV1, WSV1, GAC1, HHT1, QLT1, ORC1, LET1, MGC1, TPV1, INC1, WDV1, INT1, LAT1, LUT1, IWC1, IWT1, KET1, KFT1, TWA1, CPW1

O'Hurley Member Posts: 25 ■□□□□□□□□□The Meyers book is good. However, it does not have all the details. I just passed the exam Monday. Upon getting home, I looked over a pool of practice test questions that I had from a while back. The questions on the exam were word for word and came directly out of the pool of questions I had. I found them on scribd.com, you might wanna download them and give them a look. They are from ************.Currently Working On:

Devilsbane Member Posts: 4,214 ■■■■■■■■□□Might want to watch stuff from scribd.com as certguard gives a warning about them having some braindumps (which is why you see the ******* there)
And the fact that they are word for word leads me to believe that they are ****, which can cost you your certifications.
Learn the material, don't memorize it. Memorizing gets you nowhere once you start the job.Decide what to be and go be it. -

I wouldn't use brain ****, It wouldn't make any sense to have a certification and not know the material haha. I used Mike Meyers and Exam Cram.(CCNP: Switch) Passed!

techie2012 Member Posts: 150I am so nervous right now, I take my first exam at noon tomorrow and then the next at 2:30. I know one thing is for sure. At 4pm, I will either be A+ certified or not. I must admit, it is a bit nerve racking and will be glad when it is over so I can start on Net+.(CCNP: Switch) Passed!

longhornxp2005 Member Posts: 14 ■□□□□□□□□□You'll probably be A+ cetified before 2:30 as the test usually doesn't take the entire time allowed.
Good luck!
Yup I agree and in my case I showed up at the testing center at 11ish as I was in Tampa as it was and wasn't going home into another county. They got me setup and I started the first test right about 11:20 or so. I finished that test right around noon and took a 15 minute break to have a snack and pop. I started the second test right about 12:15 and was done in just a bit over an hour. The second test I took my sweet time on as so much of it included long passages. I wanted to be careful when reading it so I could cut out the stuff that made no difference and write down the key points that I need to focus on. This is a test which I found helpful to break it down and not rush things. As long as you do these things above its quite easy.
Most testing centers don't make you wait until the appointment time for the second test. On the other hand that doesn't mean you can show up early and expect to take the test because they could be busy. I was lucky and they could let me start right away even though I was over an hour early. I gave it a shot so I wouldn't have to travel 1+ hour roundtrip. Either way I would have gone to lunch but I really wanted to eat a nice lunch "after" becoming certified.Microsoft Office 2007 Master
