Strong area:
Identifying Cause of and Resolving Desktop Applications Issues 100%
Identifying Cause and Resolving Security Issues 100%
Weak area:
Supporting Mobile Users less then 45%
More about BranchCashe and DirectAccess then the 680 which I felt that exam was lacking.
So my experience with MCITP: EDST 7:
70-680: studied for 6 weeks total, used Sybex book, Resources thread here and other Tech net resources, took the test twice, first after 4 weeks of study got 665, second shot got 945. I really like the Sybex books in general, even though I know this wasn't their best work. I think the CDs that they come with are great used the flashcards and made sure that I understood all areas highlighted in them.
70-685: studied 6 weeks, used MS press book including the large appendix, CBT Nuggets, Resources thread here, read a few chapters in the sybex book that I felt the MSpress was lacking. I watched the whole CBT nuggets before reading the MS press book, then after reading each chapter I would watch the matching videos, then I studied each objective in the Resources thread and watched all the videos for that objective.
so watched the cbt nuggets a total of 3 times, second 2 times at 1.5 speed. took me a little over 3 months for both tests. -
veritas_libertas Member Posts: 5,746 ■■■■■■■■■■I purchased Darril Gibson's 685 book today at work. I used Amazon Prime so it should be at work when I get back Monday. Hopefully some skimming over my weak areas in that book, and some reading in the Tony Northrup book will help me over the edge when I take the exam again.
The sad part is that I have tried harder for this one than the 680...
Oh well, even if I fail every exam the first time for the MCITP:EA at least they will be free. Thanks WGU -

I wonder if you came upon topics which weren't covered in these study materials? Also, what do you mean "test was given in a method that is very from the 680"? I'm getting nervous, because for this exam I will have to pay by myself too. And there is no Second Shot

I've been studying with CBT Nuggets and 70-685 MS Press book and, with a little bit of Win 7 Resource Kit, have failed a few practice tests but have done well the last 3 times, looking forward to the test... -

ruderger Member Posts: 19 ■□□□□□□□□□yay I passed 70-685 yesterday with 850!
Scenario questions (in theory) are just like any other question, in fact kind of easier cos you have more into to base your answer on.
I would recommend the Windows 7 Resouce Kit as well as the 70-685 MS book, cbt nuggets were good but not great, I got my visual help from playing round with Win7 at work, exploring group policy etc -
