Exchange migration help

Currently we have another company we aquired and would like to create a exchange server 2007 box here at our Corporate office and migrate them over. They are currently using exchange 2003 at their office. Basically we are thinking of creating a child domain within our current domain and have their user accounts transfer over to the new child domain at our corporate office.

Our basic goal is to get their mail transfered to our office with minimal downtime.

Any suggestions on getting something like this accomplished?

Our mail server at the Corporate office is also exchange 2007. Has anyone done anything similiar before?

Let me know if this makes sense.

Create a subdomain. Use ADMT to move the users from their domain to the subdomain. Export their mailboxes and them import them when you have them set up with their new emails/accounts.
