OH hmm. At one of my jobs we did some SaaS stuff, which was basically us delivering a piece software over the net. I think pros are delivery and portability. The cons would be cost and sometimes control. There could also be a potential issues w/ security and stuff. -
sidsanders Member Posts: 217 ■■■□□□□□□□its pay as you use sw, kinda like electricity. you only use a small amount, you pay for what you used as opposed to paying a "full" license. mainframe folks have had similar in tso for ages, and pay for use concepts in sw arent new, just have "new" names you can say.
my view---
good: can keep costs low in sw costs, hw costs, people costs.
bad: lack of control, security concerns, too much use can cost more then outright ownership
delivery of the prod doesnt have to be over the inet, can be internal. billing/metering info is sent remote, or to some other internal central location. charge backs can be compared to this concept in my opinion.GO TEAM VENTURE!!!! -
