IT Certification Candidate and Social Media User - Part Time

We are looking for a good candidate and hoping it could be you. Please read the job description below and follow the directions if you are indeed interested.

Summary:
Are you an unconventional IT certification candidate? Web 2.0 savvy? Possess engaging “conversational” writing skills? If you answered YES to these questions, then you might be our guy/gal for the job.
We are looking to sponsor a non-typical IT certification candidate that can commit to a self study regimen (materials provided from product line), complete a certification exam of your choice (exam fee reimbursed) in a designated timeframe and dare we say PASS, all while chronicling your certification journey in the social media matrix (blogging, vlogs , tweets and more).

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Agrees to solely use Transcender training products for certification training
2. Agrees to complete certification training and testing by predetermined date
3. Writes/records tweets, blog postings, v-logs while complying with corporate communication policy; using latest syndication and blogging tools (provided)
4. Abides by communication & study schedule
5. Maintains a consistent visual and web image
6. Responds promptly to blog comments and email

Minimum Job Requirements:
Must be computer and Internet savvy. Strong writing/language skills. Published blog/articles samples preferred, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Social Networking/Writing
· Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively on your own with minimal supervision
· Present professional, but friendly personality on the blogosphere and Internet
· Proofreading and editing skills
· Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
· Ability to write in simple conversational style, but informative
Technical
· Above average/expert knowledge of Wordpress, Blogger, Twitter, Facebook
· Ability to use syndication and pinging tools
· Ability to use computerized word processing, blogging and internet software

Time Management
· Ability to effectively manage time and schedules
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively (when necessary)
· Strategic planning skills
Type: Part-time
Location: Atlanta, GA or Telecommute

Pay Rate: Nonmonetary; compensation includes providing you with the certification training materials for your use during your studies and pay for you to take the certification exam (savings of $$).

Would we have the choice of what exam we study for or does Kaplan make that choice?

Yes, it would be the candidates choice, but you would be limited to the Transcender product line. I will clarify that in the job descrip.

I am guessing that you do not need to be in Atlanta to do this since everything will be documented online, etc., correct?

What sort of learning resources would be provided. I know there would be Transcender practice tests but what else would be at our disposal to study for the exam?

I would definitely consider doing this if taking Cisco classes at a university doesn't disqualify me. Hmmm... Maybe I could do it for a couple MS certs.

People with their own blogs will probably be one up on the rest of us.
I've been looking for a reason to start one myself. The only problem I have starting one is just deciding what platform to use and what exactly I'd like to write about.

I wouldn't mind. I have been on a roll knocking out certifications and I wouldn't mind getting materials and exams covered.

Hi All,
Sorry for the late reply to your questions, but let me answer in order of receipt.

A lot of the work will be complete online, so yes telecommuting is an option. Our preference would be to have a local metro Atlanta candidate, as we might have face to face meetings on occasion, so if you reside in a nearby state and can make the drive to the Atlanta you are welcome to apply as well.


As for the inquiry about us providing other training materials, you are welcome to supplement your Transcender training materials with other study methods, but we will only be covering the cost for Transcender cert prep products.

I hope I have answered all the questions, but if I haven’t keep them coming, but also apply guys! We are trying to find the right candidate that can enjoy the experience of using our products.

Atlanta is about a 2 or 2-1/2 hour drive for me. I could possibly be in their control group of older, slow witted guys..lol
I'd actually like doing this as I've already used a few of their products ( I have the Transcenders for the 70-643 and 70-647 already) and could easily do the blog and tweets while using them.

I am unconventional because I have poor writing/typing skills for an IT guy, but that somewhat excludes me from doing this.

My experience with Transcender and MS 70-680 was less than thrilling...

@Earweed, we are still in the review process. A person is not limited to just using Transcender products, but that is the only study material we will cover.

There are not many people here who would be willing or able to go to Atlanta for a meeting. Also a lot of people see this as extra work with little or no reimbursement. You may need to sweeten the deal in order to get more to apply.
Some people may not have read where you said that we could use more than just Transcender to study.
I applied even though I already have the Transcender for my next 2 tests I will be taking.

Right. This might be an interesting opportunity for someone looking to beef up their resume a bit, but I think you're going to have a difficult time getting professionals to sign on. I'd rather just buy something like a practice exam than spend dozens of hours earning it.
