How to tell if a network printer is off line in Windows 7?

In Xp you had the nice little feature to select which would bring up another page of printers where it would show if they were on line or off line. In Windows 7 however it just shows the name type and comments. Is this a system admin function or can I add a column to reflect the printers status?

Any information would be much appreciated.

I find standing over the printer and screaming obsenties at it usually does the trick. Don't mind the looks from your co-workers. Give them a evil glare if they continue to look.

Seriously:

Change the view to tiles in the devices and printers it will come up as offline/online

If you look under Devices and Printers the printers that are offline have translucent icons.

Set up the web interface for the printer and take a look at it that way.

It works at least for local printers, it should work for network printers as well I assume.

I just tried that to confirm, it worked with my wireless printer.
