Common sense goes out the window.. Yet again

Last week at a local arts fair, Julie and her mother were surprised when a county inspector asked to see their restaurant license. They didn't have one. The inspector told them they would face a fine of up to $500 if they didn't stop selling lemonade.
Lucky she didn't get tazed.....

Only news because it was a little girl. If two adults tried selling lemonade at a fair everyone would have been behind the inspectors.

It was at a fair and everyone else had to pay to have a booth; think about the guy next to her selling lemonade that had to purchase a license...

The law has to be uniform in order for it not to be abused. She has a business so she needs to pay. It sucks but if that is the law, she broke it. End of story.

They should have publicly flogged her, then tazzed her then flog her again just in case she didn't learn her lesson from the first flogging.

Read that article on another forum. People need to understand this isn't your typical childhood lemonade stand at the street corner or out front of their house. This was at a fair with a lot of traffic and with other vendors whom had to pay a fee to serve food or drinks.

Pretty much common sense if you ask me, though people in the media affiliated with the left and/or right all seem to love blowing things like this well out of proportion. It helps keep the minds of the sheep who can't think for themselves off the real issues going on out there.

May sound harsh but what everybody else said. We don't have the tradition of kids running lemonade stalls here but from what I gather, you generally don't setup your stall at a proper fair as a kid.

Just wait for the complaints from the other traders when next fair you'll find people exploiting the rules by having kids present...
