I have been raeding a little in the Cisco forums for a while but here is a very noobish question. I know that WIC is Wan Interface card but what determines what type of WIC used and why.
No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

bighornsheep Member Posts: 1,506Depends on the demarcation. If it's a Copper Ethernet termination, you're using a CAT5/CAT6 from the WIC of your router through some patch cabling into the ISP's equipment. Usually a canoga perkins fibre/copper converter.
For T1/T3 connections, it's usually the serial type connection that connects your router's WIC into the ISP router.Jack of all trades, master of none
