Just finished reading chapter 10 of Darril Gibson's book, "CompTIA Security + : Get Certified, Get Ahead," and am poised to do the practice exam at the back of the book. Tomorrow, I plan to review all of the practice test questions at the end of each chapter before tackling the big practice test at the back. I've been missing no more than two questions.

You'll be fine. If you are are getting over 80% (and you've been doing more), consider yourself ready. You really will be amazed when you take the exam. I just can't stress this enough....read every word in the questions and answers. You may think you have a gimme, but because you didn't read the last couple of words, your gimme became a gotcha. That's really the best advice I can give for this exam.

Darril's book is a good resource, and his questions are much closer to what you would see on the test than the other practice questions I have seen.

Hmmm... As I'm going through the tests at the ends of the chapters, it looks like I need to take extra care to slow down and make sure I understand every word in the question. Good luck on the test this week! I'm using Darril's book but I'm only about 1/3 through it. BTW when preparing for my A+'s and N+ I never felt that the tests in the books were good enough. I'd recommend putting out some $ for a good practice exam. In the past I've used PrepLogic, uCertify, Transcender, MeasureUp, etc. and can especially recommend the first three. Also, Preplogic just had a sale on all their practice exams although I think it is over now but you can check if interested -

I finished Darril's book and went through the CBT Nugget series and scheduled my exam for this coming Saturday. Going off of everyone's advice saying that if you do good on the practice exams in Darril's book than you should be more than ready (scoring around 93-94% on the questions in there so I hope it's true )
