70-647 on 9/2/10

Going in to take this exam at 0900 CST tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it! I feel like I know the material pretty well, not well enough to have the whole MS Press book memorized but certainly well enough for the exam.

I don't know about the rest of you but I actually shoot for a 700-800 score. Anything higher than that to me means I spent too much time studying and thus, too much time away from my wife and kids.

Anyway, I'll post my score tomorrow! After this one it's just the 70-680 for the MCITP:EA!

I passed with an 820! Not too bad imo. :) An interesting exam I'd say. If you know you're MCSE stuff this one is half in the bag. The new 2008 stuff was featured heavily of course but as always, looking for the key phrases and understanding what they mean is critical to passing this one.

I'd also recommend to anyone taking this or any Microsoft exam, keep it simple. Microsoft exam questions are convoluted but they really are trying to keep it simple. There were many times that I was stuck between two answers because I over-analyzed something and made a wrong answer....correct. I did this by 'making it work' in my head but once I started restricting the environmental variables to the verbiage in the question, the answer became obvious. :)

Anyway, thanks everyone and good luck to all those who are studying for this one!

Congratulations on the pass and it's a good advice you give. A lot of times the question is really simple but the way Microsoft post it in 5 lines make you think it's a hard one.

How many weeks did you study for this exam ?

Good, I'm glad you found the advice useful! :) Well, I passed the 70-649 on July 30th and have been studying for the 70-647 ever since. Each week I study for about 10-11 hours each week and it's been about 4.5 weeks. About 45 hours I guess.

I watched the entire CBT Nuggets 70-647 series, read through the MS Press book & took all the lesson exams as well as the practice exam. :)

I could have probably taken the exam a week or two ago but I was taking my time. :)

    Thanks to everyone else!

Thanks for the info, 4.5 weeks seems adequate I guess I'm planning to take this exam on November hopefully if I passed 646 next week then 643 on October. I also can't study more than 11 hours a week since i have wife and daughter.

The convoluted language is my biggest concern regarding Microsoft exams that I am about to take. Thanks for the advice and congratulations on your pass!icon_cheers.gif

Congrats. I'm gonna resit this one again in a few weeks. I believe I overthink the questions as well as I pretty much know the material.

    Anyway, congrats again.

Hey Elwood, nice to talk to you again! :)

Keep it simple man. Take a deep breath before the test and trust in your brain's ability to answer the question correctly. I've found many times over that if I just allow my brain to work it does a far better job than I ever do. By that I mean I believe the sub-concious kicks into gear so I'm not completely relying on my conciousness only. Make sense?

    Hope this helps!
