Hi,

im just lookin into a project for a NMS solution and were wondering what you guys were using for a enterprise solution. Im looking for a solution which can do the following things - or at least most of them (that i can think of at the moment):

Support for AT,juniper and cisco devices
use of custom scripts
change management
config management
concept of customer userbase
automated diagnostics & fault resolution
Asset inventory
usual diagram / reports
resource utilisation/monitoring

From my research it seems there are a few decent products and were wondering if you guys had any suggestions or even feedback on these:

IBM netcool
HP Openview
ManageEngine™ DeviceExpert
Solar Winds Orion NCM
Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold

Please suggest any which arent on the list too :)

Thanks

I've always used Solarwinds Orion NPM for these kinds of things, there are tons of addons for the application.

Only down side to it is that its 20k per license and to run it in a high availability cluster you need multiple server 2008 enterprise + MSSQL license per processor if you want active/active sql cluster.

So none the less its a very expensive application. I hate the fact that you cant use MySQL with it to save like 60 grand.
There is no place like 127.0.0.1
