Hi all,
I just wanted to check with you before I buy that the following books are the
core books required for the CCENT/CCNA content.
- Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices, Part 1 (ICND1): CCNA Exam 640-802 and ICND1 Exam 640-822 (Self-Study Guide)
- Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices, Part 2 (ICND2): (CCNA Exam 640-802 and ICND Exam 640-816) (Self-Study Guide)
Both these books are by
Stephen McQuerry and were published 2007 and 2008.
I have noticed that Wendell Odom has written:
- CCENT/CCNA ICND1 Official Exam Certification Guide (CCENT Exam 640-822 and CCNA Exam 640-802)
This one was published in 2007. I cannot locate the ICND2 variant (if there is one in correllation to the above Wendell book!) and then there are others by Odom called:
- CCNA 640-802: Exam Certification Library.
This one is 2009, but my problem is there are so bloody many I haven't a clue what is for what! Maybe it is this confusion that earns the publishers so much revenue!...
Point is I am confused as to which book(s) to go for, and whether the content of the certification as it is now has altered from when these materials were published and if so what are the alternatives as I can not find further editions published for recent years such as 2009/2010?
I don't want to waste any money especially since I have recently bust the bank kitting myself out with a home lab. Any advice would be greatly appreciated - what would you recommend?
Thanks.
