How Many Exams/Certs

I saw a comment in another thread stating that someone had sat 23 MS exams and was wondering not only how many exams people have done but how many individual certificates you have including ones that have been superseded.
So, how many exams have you passed and how many certs do you have?

I have sat/hold
13 exams
17 certificates

All Microsoft

Actually all of my certs have been while going to WGU. If I had been a little quicker about doing more CU's a term I'd have more CIW and a Sun cert (SCJA)

    21 exams (19 MS, 2 CompTIA)
    13 Certifications (11 MS, 2 CompTIA)

Excluding any of the MCTSes that count to my MCITPs. I have 2 MCTS certs for SharePoint that have no corresponding MCITP, so I am counting those as individual certifications.

You can add one to both of these after tomorrow. < I hope any way... icon_study.gif >

I've done 23 MS exams in the last 3 years and 29 MS exams overall.

    Exams
    MS - 29

    EMC - 1

    Certifications
    Cisco - 1

    3 SANS exams
    10-12 Cisco exams

I did two composite exams to shortcut having to take two additional Cisco exams.

Microsoft Office Specialist exams. 4 which equal a master for 2007 office applications. Which gives you another 1. 4/4 the Expert is just a compilation.

    Exin 3/3

Comptia 0/1 Took Project + and failed. Never retook the exam.

Taken 8 exams and passed 7 of them.

Working on ITIL OSA at the moment, exam will be scheduled next week so this is subject to change for better or for worse.

    CCENT - 1 exam
    CCNA - 1 exam

    5 certifications, 6 exams.

    Microsoft - 15
    Cisco - 3
    CompTIA - 2
    SANS - 2
    CWNP - 2
    VMware - 1
    EC-Council - 1
    ISACA - 1
    (ISC)2 - 1

All the ones aside from the Microsoft exams pulled in their own certification. The Microsoft ones are kind of dumb since the MCSE: Security also gives you MCP, MCSA, MCSA: Security and MCSE. You also get individual MCTSes for the MCITP: EA and EMA.

3 Microsoft and 1 CompTIA. If you count MCP and MCSA separately, that makes 3 certs.

Let's see here, I've got 6 certs and 9 exams under my belt so far:

    Microsoft
    MCSA
    - 70-290
    - 70-291
    - 70-270

    Cisco
    CCNA
    - 640-801

    CompTIA
    A+
    - 220-301
    - 220-302
    Security+
    - SY0-101
    Linux+
    - XK0-002
    Server+
    - SK0-003

The number of certs will probably jump before the end of the year. I'm taking the ROUTE exam to not only get started on the CCNP, but also renew my CCNA, which expires in November. After that, I'm going to finally sit for the remaining MCSE exams, (70-293, 70-294, and 70-298,) which I've been half-ready to take for almost a year and a half now. I just need to sit down, read through each book, and really nail down the details before each test.

    Over the last 3 years:

    4 CompTIA
    A+
    Net+
    Sec+

    11 MS

    8 certs
  • MentholMooseMentholMoose Member Posts: 1,525 ■■■■■■■■□□
    MS: 13 exams, 12 certs
    MCP
    MCTS x 7
    MCITP x 4
I'm taking another exam tomorrow and hopefully will get the MCSA by the end of the month, and MCSE next month.

    CompTIA: 2 exams, 2 certs(?)
    Linux+ (2004 & 2009)
It shows up twice on my transcript, so I guess it counts as two certs.

    VMware: 1 exam, 1 cert
    VCP 4

    Cisco: 2 exams, 1 certs(?)
    CCNA
I originally took the 640-801, and later the 802 to renew.

    Citrix: 3 exams, 5 certs(!!)
    CCA x 5
My transcript shows 5 CCAs. Each exam is 1 CCA, and two of them combined with another to get a bonus one. Score!! :D

That's 21 exams and 21 certs in total, if you agree with my rationale. Before 2009 I only had the CCNA (801 exam only) and Linux+ (2004).

    Currently...

9 exams, 7 certifications (including superseded i.e. MCSE:security supersedes MCSE, MCSA)

By years end of next year the number will look probably look something more like this:

    23 exams and 19 certifications.

On my own time I have 4 CIW Certifications and Project+ as part of my WGU program.

On my company time (and what time I can spare away from WGU), I am hoping to upgrade my MCSE to MCITP:EA/SA, do the CEH and RHCT exam and the cisco CCENT->CCNA->CCNA:Security tract.

Of the 19 Certifications, only 8 will make my resume.

Wohoo! Passed the 453 so that makes....

21 Certifications grand total (counting all MCTSes, etc) and 22 exams.

    MCITP: DBA 2008
    MCITP: DBA 2005
    MCITP: EDA7
    MCITP: Enterprise Admin
    MCSE: Security
    MCSE
    MCSA: Security
    MCSA
    MCDST
    MCP
    MCTS: SharePoint Server 2007
    MCTS: SharePoint Server 2007 Dev
More MCTSes than I care to list..
    Linux+
    Security+
The excellent thing is that easily 1/3 of the exams were taken in their beta phase!

Dude, cannot even tell you how many I cut it that close. Failed the 291 once. Failed a few betas I did not prep for properly as well. Now that I am only taking one or two exams a year, though, I am scoring in the 800s pretty regularly.

I've only taken 3 MS exams and have yet to hit the 800 mark. Hopefully my luck will change soon.
