Books/resources for 70-646

I'm starting on the MCITP: Server/Enterprise Administrator path, and decided to go with 646 first, because to me it seemed to be the exam that slowly introduced one to WinServer2008. But after some research, it seems to me like this is the largest exam for the 2008 track, and most people seem to not start with this exam first.

But I'm already a bit into my preparations, so I think I'll just stick with taking this one first. I've got the official training kit, but what other book(s) do you guys recommend? And there is not a sticky on 646 resources, so what (recommended) resources are available for 70-646?
Current certs: MCP (210) MCSA (270, 290, 291 and 680) MCTS (680, 640)

I agree with taking 70-646 and then 70-647 for exactly the same reasons you cite. Server Admin is a good preparation for Enterprise Admin. In that order when you go for 647 it's mainly review with a few new subjects thrown in.

I used only the MS Press book, which is probably included in the Kit you are talking about. If not, here's a link to it on amazon: Amazon.com: MCITP Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-646): Windows Server Administration (9780735625105): Orin Thomas, Ian McLean: Books

Best of luck in your studies!

The 70-646 is actually thefinal test you would take to get the MCITP:Server Administrator.

As for resources you already have the MS Press Training Kit and I would also recommend getting the Sybex book Amazon.com: MCITP: Windows Server 2008 Server Administrator Study Guide: (Exam 70-646) (9780470293157): Darril Gibson: Books
As for other resources use the resource links in the 70-640 and 642 resource thread where needed.

Why is that? Which one should I start with, 640?

To me, the 646 seemed to be equivalent of 290.

For the MCITP:EA the tests required are the 70-640, 70-642, 70-643, and the 70-647. Taken in any order. If you have experience with AD then take the 642 first if not then it would probably be best to start with the 70-640. If you don't know what AD (Active Directory) is then definitely start with the 640 as I did as I was clueless to begin with. (And sometimes still am..lol)
For the MCITP:SA you could take the 70-640,70-642, and 70-646. in any order but if you don't have a lot of experience you should probably take the 70-646 last as the material kind of builds up to it.

Edit: Didn't notice your MCSA, sorry for the comment about knowing what AD was. You could actually take the 70-648 instead of taking the 640/642 as that is the upgrade path from MCSA:2003 then you coulld take the 70-646 for the MCITP:SA and then take 70-643 and 70-647 for the EA.

Didn't realize you missed all of the other tests, my comments applied only to the final two for the either Windows 2008 MCITP track, those being 70-646 (Server Administrator) and 70-647 (Enterprise Administrator).
