The Road to becoming a Systems Analyst / IT Business Analyst

Howdy everyone!

I can't express how glad I am to finally find a forum that looks to have some credibility.

I've enjoyed reading and learning so much about the field I have chosen to lay my tracks on to venture through for the rest of my life.

Anyways.. lets get down to business.

As the title says, I'm looking to make my mark on the IT world as a Systems Analyst.

Here's my rundown thus far..

Bachelors Degree:

-About to finish a B.S. in Technical Management with emphasis in Business Information Systems

Certifications:

-About to complete a Certification in Systems Analysis from UCLA extension
- A+, Network+, and also about to obtain: MCSD, Security+, Server+, Project+, CCNA,
- Basic C,C#,C++ and Visual basic programming

Work Experience:
- 3 years PC support, basic troubleshooting and system maintenance.
- 4 years as an Administrative Specialist

I was hoping to get some input, particularly a realistic assessment of my chances of landing an entry level Systems Analyst or IT Business Analyst position based on my credentials (after I graduate and it's all said and done) and work experience.

Also, what certifications am I missing and any advice in general?

One thing also to consider is framework (ITIL) and project management (PMP) experience/knowledge. Most of the Business Analyst I know have some sort of background/knowledge in Finance/Accounting AND IT. I have seen an upkick in BA positions as companies are looking for geeks they can understand. Most of this positions also require knowledge of reporting tools like Crystal and some knowledge of SQL server. There are several Microsoft certifications for SQL server including MCITP:Business Intelligence (I think Robert can tell you more about that if he comments on this). Also Oracle knowledge is desired in large companies. As far as degrees, BS in Computer Science as well as CIS/MIS also seem to be popular with this crowd. Xaiver University has a BSBA:IT. Basically it is a business degree with software development classes.

I think honestly this is one of the feathers I want in my hat as well as I don't see myself working as a techie forever.
