Buying an IOS

I am trying to buy an IOS for my router and came across this:

Softchoice: Cookie Error

It says Cisco IOS IP Plus - ( v. 12.3(3) ) - complete package. What does complete package mean? I am assuming that means it comes with the CD and the license?

Please advise.

S8CP-12303= is an IOS license for an old 800 router. You'd just get a bit of paper that says you're entitled to upgrades and then you get it associated with your Cisco account where you'd be able to download the actual files.

That said, I don't see how this is still valid. The original 800s which this is for were EOS/EOL long ago and you can't get a SMARTnet contract for them now.

So how do I find the IOS that can be installed on my 2600 and 2500 series routers? The cisco website does not show the Mfg# so I could look for it in soft choice.

You can't purchase a new SMARTnet contract for a 2600 or 2500 as both routers have been EOS/EOL for years now. Even if somebody did sell you one, Cisco would refuse to add it to your account.

Anybody that sells or gives a copy of IOS for those routers is doing so illegally.
