MCSA, which exams?
samuel235235235
Hey guys, im looking to become a MCSA. I'm a little confused on which exams are needed for it.
Is it correct that if i complete the following exams i will become a MCSA?:
70-290
70-291
70-680
70-270
Thanks in advance, Sam

Yeah, that would work. You might want to consider doing Network+ instead of 70-270. Your A+ and Network+ would count as an elective then the 70-680 would count as the client exam.

I would agree with willhi1979, drop 70-270 (unless XP is very important to you) and take Network+ (try to get it prior to 2011 as it will no longer be a life long cert by then) and keep 70-680 as it is required for the MCITP track of exams.

Okay so if i drop 270 and pick up N+. The N+ would count as a 270 for the MCSA? Or am i miss understanding? Sorry if i am, its late here and im tired haha.

For the MCSA, you are required to take 70-290 & 70-291, one client OS exam, of which 70-680 makes sense to take for above mentioned reasons, and you then require one elective. Your A+ and if you were to take the N+ would fulfill the one elective requirement (yes, even though they are two tests they fulfill only the one elective requirement - go figure).
