Passed 642 today!

I had originally planned to take the 642 a few days ago on Saturday but after having some problems reaching some of my study resources to do some last minute crams I decided to reschedule for today and well, after only sitting there for about half an hour I came out with a 900 score!

I'll probably plan to take the 646 within the next couple of weeks, it feels awesome to only be one test away from my first MCITP.

    Congratulations! great passing score .

Did you have any R2 question? I'm currently studying to sit this exam and hope to take it in a few weeks.

    Congrats!
Did it have any R2 stuff on it?
No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

Nah, I didn't see any R2 related questions so it looks like you're pretty in the clear for now. Of course they use a large bank of questions for these tests anyways and it could be that I just lucked out and didn't get any on my batch of questions.

I couldn't imagine that if they did have any on any given test that it would be more than 2 or 3 from the get go anyways. Thanks for the congrats though, gearing up for the 646 now which hopefully be a piece of cake since I got the 640 and 642 knocked out with 900's on both.

Well believe me 70-646 is not a peace of cake I too got more than 900 in both 640&642 but it took me almost two month to get ready for R2.

I'm not trying to let you down but but it was really hard for me maybe it will be easier for you. The exam itself was tough too maybe because it was all based on R2 material I mean every term they used was R2 but the question itself wasn't necessarily.

I got 40 questions then another 4 case studies with about 7 question each total time was 2 hours and I happily for 775.

Good luck to you but make sure to use R2 in your labs.

    Congrats on the pass.

I would agree with the comments above regarding the 646.
I found it difficult just because it was a planning exam but you may well get on with it fine.
Just follow the MS Exam objectives closely.

Yeah, I think the reason why I'm confident is I've always been pretty good at practical planning. I've always had a good business mind on my head which takes in tow with it an inept ability to plan and implement certain aspects of business and just general life. I figured if I have the knowledge of 2008 pretty down pat then the planning portion should just come naturally. It'll just be thinking of what the most logical course of action would be with each question.

As for the R2 questions go, I've actually been studying R2 ever since I tested for the 680 a few months back. Once I saw how much was involved with Windows 7 and 2008 R2 then it might be a good idea to get an understanding of R2 down so I can realistically use the Windows 7 Configuration knowledge in the real world. So I'm actually pretty prepared on that aspect as well, but I'll let you guys know.

I'm still gonna read the 646 book and labs as well as read over the R2 material again. But I don't think it'll take me more than a couple of weeks with the way I study.
