Since there were a lot of "passed" threads recently.... I'll add myself to the count!

Was this a reading comprehension exam or for I.T. Security fundamentals? Took my sweet time and had only 15 min left to spare. Went ahead and marked almost 70 items to read over 3x times with many adjustments.

There was many question not necessarily covered in clear during my studies, but I guess that's going be the norm with most certs.

Now on to MCTIP:2K8 after some well deserved down time.

I guess i do.

Granted I'll have it for life before the closing of 2010, might as well..... Would it be worth the effort? Currently hardware isn't exactly my strength and I don't know if memorizing socket types and connectors is my cup of tea. The rest of it though seems rather easy.

A+ is about 100 times easier than the Net+, and in most employer's eyes, it is about 100 times more important. Now I'm no math major, but that seems like it makes it about a billion times better.

With an IT background (which I'm assuming you have from the degree and several certs) the A+ should be a walk in the park. You could get it with 1-2 weeks studying per test, heck you might even be able to just walk up and take it but I'd never recommend that.

As much as I hate this phrase (and I hate even more I have to invoke it) and wish for it to die a slow, painful death, it is low-hanging fruit.....the only negative with taking this exam is that it's expensive. But in my case (and not yours), the best thing A+ did for me was helping me get my $500-a-term scholarship at WGU). Plus, you will never know when a (potential) employer may require to have A+ (current, or otherwise). Just take it and pass it (preferably before the end of the year so it's lifetime). With what you got, the only book you may need is the Mike Meyers A+ Passport book (the condensed version of his AIO series).

Get your trinity and be done with it.

I didn't realize employers felt that way about A+.

I've seen system admin jobs that mention the A+ for some reason. HR people usually are the ones who put in a lot of requirements.
