NetApps Training is pretty ridiculous

I was out of work for a long time and looked into many jobs. I kind of like the job as a storage administrator because there seemed to be less user contact. I had 1/2 of the equation, the backup side. I had been backing up 50 TB on an r200 and we had just installed another NetApps that had 100 TB of space. When I looked into the training, it was over $4K. There are no books as far as I can tell and no training outside of NetApps and 'authorized' training centers. This seems to leave everything to an elite insdiers group. Either you work for a company that has an account with NetApps, or be willing to shove out lots of dough. I went back to being a unix system admin, but we don't have NetApps or EMC in my group.

I would take advantage of that. I wish I had some access to free NetApps training. I don't know anything about EMC. -

N-Series = NetApp rebadged/OEM'ed storage.

Do you have to buy these seperate or do you get them from just purchasing their products? We have bought alot of netapps recently and I havent been made aware of anything like this?
Also are these good for live training or online only? -

down77 Member Posts: 1,009When you are buying new storage always push them to throw in training if they want to secure the sale.
They will almost always adjust the cost of the quote to include the cost of the training if pushed. Most, if not all partners make nothing from the sale of training and have to pay full cost themselves. Even if you buy from NetApp direct the sales reps generally increase the cost to cover training which results in a lower discount on the solution.CCIE Sec: Starting Nov 11 -
