JK0-701 and 702 vs. 220-701 and 702?

This has been very hard for me to research. What is the main difference between the CompTIA A+ JK0-701 & 702 and the CompTIA A+ 220-701 & 702 exams?
My old college gave me CompTIA A+ JK0-701 & 702 exam vouchers, and I have been self studying for the CompTIA A+ 220-701 and 702 exams. I do not want to study the wrong material and waste my money for the wrong exams. Is there a difference?
I look forward to reading everyone's responses. Thank you.

Its the same exam either way. The JK- just means you got your voucher from a Prometric partner or its an educational discount.

So you are saying if I take the JK0-701 & 702 exams, I will be 100% CompTIA A+ certified just like if I took the 220-701 & 702 exams?
    Does everybody agree on this?

You are correct. I actually took my A+ this summer using those same exam numbers.

So you took the JK0-701 & 702 exams, passed them, and received your CompTIA A+ certificate and card in the mail from CompTIA stating you are CompTIA A+ certified?

I read somewhere that the JK0-701 & 702 exams are modified educational A+ exams, and when one takes them they are actually not 100% CompTIA A+ certified.

At this point. I dont know who and what to believe.

I understand your hesitation and I am not fooling you.

I am indeed A+ certified (among other things) and have received my card and certificate in the mail. I didn't post on this thread to have my cert validated or verified, I came to answer a question lol. If you believe me, you do, if not, I'll leave it to the rest of the members.

Below is my chart via certmetrics (CompTIA's cert progress handler). My ID number is held out for privacy reasons.

This is the "real" certification so don't worry about that. You just got an educational discounted voucher which uses the JK0 prefix to indicate this was an educational voucher. I'm also A+ certified and used these same JK0 vouchers and the information I gave you above was stated to me when I submitted in writing to the president of CompTIA certified mail. The response was that using these vouchers was for an educational discount and results in the same quality certification as taking the 220 test series.

Yesterday I received an email from CompTIA themselves stating:
"The JK0-701 and JK0-702 series is the exact same exam as the 220-701 and 220-702. The difference is the JK0 is used by our educational members. In order to use that exam code, your organization or school will have to be a member and provide you with access to purchase the voucher."

I appreciated everyone's input. I am scheduled to take the JK0-701 CompTIA A+ exam on November 5, 2010. Wish me luck.

sorry to revive a old thread. But i have taken the JK0-701 and passed. Now my teacher didn't order the right number of JK0-702 vouchers and isn't responding to any emails. I need to get this done so i was going to purchase a 220-702 exam. If i passed the JK0-701 using my schools voucher and then purchased the 220-702 myself would that complete the certification our do they JK0 tests have to be taken with the corresponding JK0 and vice versa with the 220 series?

You only need to take and pass an xxx-701 and an xxx-702 exam and it doesn't matter what order. In other words, you can take and pass the 220-702 exam and then later take and pass the JK0-701 exam and you'll be A+ certified.

    Good luck.
