Definately feels good to be moving forward again. I've felt like life has been on hold since March.
Now I can start scheduling some tests over the next few weeks and wrap up MCITP:EA by spring 2011 -

I just never hope for something good lol
every time I go to an interview I'm like I know I wont get this job but, I'll do it anyways".
I do give my best in the interview, but I think not having hopes calm my anxiety.meh -
Anonymouse Member Posts: 509 ■■■■□□□□□□I just bombed an interview this morning; put on the suit, drove to the office . . . . could not will myself out of the car.
It's embarrassing and abnoxious that I have 10yrs of solid IT experience and have been in far more stressful situations than an interview but somehow a little jitters turns into a major show stopper.
So my question is - how do you deal with interview anxiety?
Not trying to be an ass but it sounds like you may have more serious problems than dealing with anxiety. -

Not at all; it's just a matter of pushing the right buttons. My way of handling this is to think of our 3x year daughter, and that I owe it for her sake to get us all to a better place.
Anxiety can hit anyone and it may call for some perspective. Not always, of course. -

Sure you would like too, but honestly its not the most important thing in the world. That mindset puts you in a place of calm confidence that helps you mentally and tells the interviewer that you are self assured and interested in the opportunity but not too eager.
Approach it like approaching a beautiful woman for a date? That doesn't calm my nerves in the slightest bit! I think I talk more in interviews than in those situations!Degrees: B.S. Computer Science, B.S. Mathematics

jayc71 Member Posts: 112 ■■■■□□□□□□Don't beat yourself up over it too much, nerves get the best of all of us from time to time. Personally, I've had times where I just can't think straight during an interview because I'm uncomfortable for one reason or another. I think the advice given above about going on interviews when you don't NEED a job is spot on since that relieves a ton of the associated pressure....but I know that isn't always possible.
