3640 Router - Flash Memory

Hi,
I just receieved my 3640 router and see that it has a pcmcia slot for flash memory, alongside having internal flash simm memory.
If I was to use both, do these work as "one" flash memory or are they independant of each other?
Would the only benefit be, being able to hold more IOS versions between the two?

The PCMCIA slot and a flash card is convenient for upgrades to the onboard flash -- or recovery if the IOS image get corrupted.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set!
