Keep my 1841 or sell it for more 2600XM's?

Hello everyone, I am in a bit of a dilemma here. Right now my lab consists of an 1841, 2610xm and 2650(non-xm) router and a 2950 and 2x 2924 switches. I am going to be using this lab for my CCNA and CCNA:Security over the next year or so.

This leads me to my question. Is the should I keep the 1841 and try to get one more 2600xm somewhere or would it benefit me more to sell it and use the funds to buy two more 2600xm's and another 2950 switch?

I do plan on eventually getting my CCNP/CCSP but that is a while down the road. Is the 1841 going to have that many more benefits for me or would the 2600xm's be just fine?

I'd keep the 1841 as it will be handy for MPLS and security in the future.

I only just retired my 1841 as it was a bottleneck due to limited throughput on my new internet connection.

I'd sell it for equipment you need NOW, by the time you get around to needing that 1841 for your studies, they will be getting cheaper. Don't get me wrong its a nice piece, but your LAB will be much better off with some (new to you) 2950's and some XMs.

I guess the question really is how far do you plan to go in Cisco certifications, and what kind of time frame do you imagine? The 1841 is probably a bit overkill for CCNA and CCNA Security but you might be kicking yourself later if you part ways with it.

Prices don't always go down for used Cisco gear in the immediate future.

The 1841 is still a current product being sold by Cisco and it is an ISR G1 which is the last one before the feature set activation system which is linked to your serial number so I don't see it significantly dropping in price soon.
