hi I have a problem with my recently bought second hand router.
please find below output with the problem. Before this error appeared i have a problem with DRAM- it was "error illegal system memory DRAM configuration.

I use xmodem command i tried to dowload new IOS, and erase any data on the flash, however during sending new IOS , router informed me that timeout for data run out and downloading aborted. when i did boot command this appeared :

    Hi!

I suppose an image of IOS is invalide. Look here for instructions to "repair" your router:

ROMmon Recovery for the Cisco 3600/3700/3800 Series Routers - Cisco Systems

You are able to speed up updating of IOS by xmodem using special commands in rommon.

Oh! What is the model of your router? In some models you are able to update IOS by command tftpdnld.

This procedure is valid for both the Cisco 2600 and 3600 Series Routers.
    rommon 2 > confreg
    Configuration Summary
enabled are:load rom after netboot fails
    console baud: 9600

do you wish to change the configuration? y/n [n]: y
    enable "diagnostic mode"? y/n [n]:
!--- Pressing "Enter" accepts the default (value between the brackets).
enable "use net in IP bcast address"? y/n [n]:

    enter rate: 0 = 9600, 1 = 4800, 2 = 1200, 3 = 2400 4 = 19200, 5 = 38400, 6 = 57600, 7 = 115200 [7]: 7
change the boot characteristics? y/n [n]:
    Configuration Summary
enabled are:load rom after netboot fails
    console baud: 115200
boot: image specified by the boot system commands or default to: cisco2-C3600
do you wish to change the configuration? y/n [n]:
You must reset or power cycle for new config to take effect

Note: Although the configuration summary shows the new speed, this speed is not in effect until the router has been reset or power-cycled.
Note: If you change the console speed to 115200 to speed up the Cisco IOS Software image download using xmodem in ROMmon, or using the Cisco IOS Software command copy xmodem: flash:, make sure you set it back to 9600 after the download is complete in case your terminal emulator defaults to 9600. Otherwise, always ensure that your router console speed matches that of the terminal emulator. You can use the confreg command as above and select 0 for change console baud rate or confreg 0x2102 followed by reset at the ROMmon prompt as follows:
    rommon 12 >confreg 0x2102
You must reset or power cycle for the new configuration to take effect.
    rommon 2 >reset

    2 32 meg SIMMs and 2 8 meg SIMMs?

The SIMMs in slots 0 and 1 should match. The SIMMs in slots 2 and 3 should match. The smaller SIMMs should be in slots 2 and 3.

It's probably easiest to see if you can get a smaller IOS to work with the 2 32 meg SIMMs.

Yes it has two 32mb and two 8mb.
Still the same problem, I speed up the xmodem by applied console boud 115200, pulled of 2 8mb, tried to download ios on flash and later even on dram by command xmodem -r and still the same error during dowloading.....

Timeout waiting for data - aborting download..

my question is where is the problem? with flash memory dram....?

I talked with guy from whom i bought the router, he might repair it by buy new dram....but it cost me time to travel with router and some money for petrol. So is any other idea what might've gone wrong? Or demand new router??
