CEH via Self Study?

Has anyone here gotten certified without sitting the class? From reading the website, I know it can be done...just wondering how common it is. I filled out the exam eligibility form and when I clicked 'save', it redirected me to a page listing upcoming classes. So... kinda confused, where do I go from here?
