Amazon.com: CompTIA A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, Seventh Edition (Exams 220-701 & 220-702) (9780071701334): Michael Meyers: Books: Reviews, Prices & moreNo longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives. -

A lot of people on this forum and CertForums really recommend. I used the book by Jean Andrews and it was very thorough. It might be worth a look as a second reference (and at 1200+ pages I got my money's worth).

If you're going to use a secondary source, which is almost always recommended - I would use Exam Cram by David L Prowse. I normally never recommend an Exam Cram series book, but this one was really helpful. Check it out on Amazon.
Personally it was an easier read than the Meyers book, and had all the necessary info to pass. (Though i still think the Meyers book is the Gold standard for this test and I always suggest it as a primary source.)
The Meyers book goes into ALOT of depth, which is great to know if you're actually going to be applying the info in the real world. (which one would hope you will be) However, i think when it comes time to sit for the test, the exam will be no where near as in depth as what you'll pull out of the book. Prowse's Exam Cram is a great refresher to run through a week or two before the test. Good luck!! -

after reading a chapter in whatever book you read, watch the corresponding professor messer videos. its a great chapter review/test prep. Also refer to the official A+ objectives and make sure you go over everything listed.2019 Goals

I did have the Mike Meyers book but to be honest his quirky sense of humour sickens me. I think it's a matter of whatever suits you best, good luck with the exams.

Clarky321 Member Posts: 34 ■■□□□□□□□□Ok guys, thanks for the info - much appreciated. The Mike Meyers book came in today, so im gonna use this as my primary information source. Im going to do the course through a college, who have a lab room for me to play around with a PC, which should help a bit. Im not a total newbie, i already have MCP and MCDSTs - so hopefully that knowledge will help me achieve this certification. I think im looking at taking the exams in Spring next year (Spring in Northern Hemisphere - UK), thats about 6 months away - so im gonna get my head down and start learning and hopefully I can find an entry level job at the end of this!
thanks again.
