Devilsbane Member Posts: 4,214 ■■■■■■■■□□No problem. I did check, and the only way you can get the $52 off is with that link. Going through the standard method gives you the normal price. Only catch I see is that the test needs to be taken before 3/31, and that really isn't a catch since this test only takes about a month to study for.
You can find better deals out there, but none that are still coming from the CompTIA store, so you can probably feel completely comfortable buying from them.
For anyone that utilizes this, please send a $10 check to my PO box as a finders feeDecide what to be and go be it. -

Yes and no. (And no, I'm not even going to mention that "trek" outside of this parenthetical statement [much]....lol)
I agree that if you read Darril's book straight, should take a good couple of weeks to a month to pass the exam. Sometimes, people do get legitimately busy...I had bought Darril's book a good few months before I really went to town on it, but life and work had to make me postpone it. What got me to get to it when I did was I made myself put Security+ on my class schedule so that I would not have my own neverending story...
But then it was pretty much two-three weeks for me (straight). But I had tried to do it a few months earlier (but got "lifed").
As long as folks can put some serious time into Security+: Get Certified Get Ahead, it can definitely be a couple of weeks to a month. I did not believe that until AFTER I sat for the exam and got a really nice score. But it is true. -
Travler Member Posts: 61 ■■□□□□□□□□I just used the link and purchased the voucher on Nov. 12th, so it looks like the offer is still good.
Just waiting on them to send me the voucher number after my credit card checks out.
I'm reading one chapter in Darril's book a night, then taking the test for that chapter the next night and then heading into the following chapter. After the first 5 chapters, I'm missing from 1-4 questions and one of those is ususally because I didn't read the question fully. (For instance, answer is honeynet instead of honeypot.) So, I'm feeling a bit better about my chances since I really haven't used any other study materials yet. Then again, I haven't got into the stuff I really don't know much about, either. -

You would have to find one that is a J2C member and then you will need to find the administrator who is in charge of purchasing them and hope that (s)he lets you buy one even though you aren't a student.Decide what to be and go be it. -
jmritenour Member Posts: 565How long is it taking you guys to get your voucher on average? I requested one earlier this morning, do you think I'll have it by the end of this business day? I think I'm going to have time Wednesday to take the test without taking time off from work, so it would be great if I could get it scheduled today."Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible; suddenly, you are doing the impossible." - St. Francis of Assisi

Seattle Registered Users Posts: 1 ■□□□□□□□□□The site says I must validate my corporate ID number. Whats the deal. How did it work for you guys?
I ordered it on Friday and the voucher arrived today.
It mentions the corporate ID thing but nowhere in the check out process did it ever ask me for a corporate ID or anything beyond billing info and testing company (pearson VUE or some other one)
So I think you'll be fine ignoring that warning. -
lenell86 Member Posts: 75 ■■■□□□□□□□yea I registered on the site and it's asking for a corporate ID to verify...any clues as to what to do at this stage?Certifications complete: A+, Net+, Security+, MCTS 70-401, MCSA

lenell86 Member Posts: 75 ■■■□□□□□□□nvm, looks like I ignored the message about it verifying a corporate or member ID and it let me buy the voucher. 40min later and they sent the voucher code and was able to register for the exam! wish me luck!Certifications complete: A+, Net+, Security+, MCTS 70-401, MCSA
