CPU Fan Problems
My fan is running at a very high speed all of a sudden. After a while of running at this high speed, the speed then fluctuates.
This occurs when the cpu is cool as the computer has been off for a long period of time.
Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

bad sensor or the fan needs to be reseated...I'm not a complete idiot... some parts are missing. -

Or just a bad fan. They're cheap enough to replace.i remain, he who remains to be....

Agreed, spend $5 and get another cheap one, or if noise really bothers you, just get a ball-bearing fan.
