Greetings,
Passed Security + (SY0-201)
This is the first Comptia test that I have taken since 2006. (I passed A+ and Network+).
This one was tough. However I took the advise of several good people on this forum & bought a copy of Darril Gibson's Security+ book. Read that puppy for about a month - took the tests at the end of each chapter then did the Transcender route for about 3 weeks on top of that.
(I work full time as a Desktop tech at a University - so I had my hands full. )
Passed today with 800 score.
Some of the questions were weird. Obviously you had to REALLY know the theroy behind the practice. Rote memorization won't really cut it. Cryptology, Access models, et.

Congrats! I am currently reading Darril's book and will most likely take it by the end of Nov. Whats next?

70-290 will be next. I already have a voucher.
70-680 Windows 7, because we are moving to Win 7 in December at work.
70-291 - which will qualify me as MCSA
Then I might move over and do CCNA.
After that I am thinking to going the "upgrade route," and take the MS exams that are supposed to upgrade a MCAS to a server 2008 certification.
But definately 70-290; and Win 7 next.
