7914 addon module

Hi,

I'm having trouble configuring a 7914 addon module connected to a 7960 under CUCM v8.0.2 (or CME v4.1).

The 7960 is powered from the switch, the 7914 is powered from a brick, there is a 6-pin RJ12 aux cable connecting them. All lights on the 7914 are red.

I can't seem to get the 7914 to load firmware. The phone indicates that the 7914 is there, "settings/status/exp module" module 1 link state = idle, "settings/status/firmware" module 1 = none.

In CUCM under the phone device "expansion module info" module 1 = 7914, "firmware load" is blank for default. I've added a new phone profile to cater for the 7914.

I've converted the phone to SIP and back to SCCP in the hope it will take the 7914 firmware. But no success...

I'm open to any suggestionsicon_study.gif

Sounds like a firmware problem - I remember an article a while back (CCM 4) which mentioned that the 7914 firmware HAD to be updated before the IP phone firmware. Not sure if this is still the case.

Are you running CME in your telco cloud? If so, try loading the 7960/7914 firmwares there to see if the device is working.

Still no joy under CME v4.1 either, partial CME config:
    tftp-server flash:/phone/7940-7960/P00308000400.loads alias P00308000400.loads
    tftp-server flash:/phone/7940-7960/P00308000400.sb2 alias P00308000400.sb2
    tftp-server flash:/phone/7940-7960/P00308000400.sbn alias P00308000400.sbn
    tftp-server flash:/phone/7940-7960/P00308000400.bin alias P00308000400.bin
    tftp-server flash:/phone/7914/S00104000100.sbn alias S00104000100.sbn

    telephony-service
      load 7960-7940 P00308000400
      load 7914 S00104000100

    ephone 6
      mac-address aaaa.bbbb.cccc
      type 7960 addon 1 7914
      button 1:6 7:7 8:8 9:9 10:10

ephone-dn's are configured, firmware is being served via TFTP, firmware made available under telephony and 7914 attached to the ephone.

I've had a look through system: but can't find the relevant SEP.xml file for the 7960 (it's the only phone currently connected for testing), only default.xml's.

Debugs (debug ephone detail) indicate that it is trying to find the 7914 as I'm getting "CHECK IF ADDON MODULE OPERATIONAL", but cant see any response/error messages.

    I've even tried a different 7960. I'm at a bit of a loss...
