I installed easy peasy on daughters netbook. Now I'd like some opinions on what is the best FREE AV to go with easypeasy,
No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials on all of my computers. The only thing I noticed a problem with is it slowed my nettop down when streaming so I am without AV on that. It gets pretty high ratings so I would go with it.

In my opinion the easiest way to avoid malware is to use Firefox with Adblock Plus. I've never had a client get an infection after making that switch. Some refuse to use anything but the big blue E but it seems like Firefox works pretty well.

The last 3 issues with rapeware (as i call it) I've had to deal with have been via exploits in Flash, PDFs, and Java. So yeah...the browser sometimes has nothing to do with it.
